Did you see Newham stabbing?

POLICE ARE appealing for help from the public in finding those responsible for stabbing a man in the centre of Stratford on Sunday, 16th July. The victim is still in hospital, with life-changing injuries.

Back on that Sundy, a 28 year old man received a call from a friend. The friend asked him to come to Maryland Point, where he was having an argument with a group of men. The 28 year old man went to Maryland Point – and he was then stabbed in the abdomen by one of the group of men who is described as black, in his early 20s, and wearing dark clothing. The group made off in the direction of Well Street.

The stabbing victim tried to get away, and reached The Grove before he collapsed – and was found by the London Ambulance Service, who asked the police to attend. The victim was taken to an East London, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

The officer in the case, Detective Constable Jon Saddington from Newham CID, said: “I would appeal to anyone who saw the attack or the events leading up to it to call police. We need to understand what has happened and we need to catch whoever was responsible for this attack.”
