Kind hearted staff from Langdon Park School in Poplar joined youngsters from the local SPLASH Life Skills Project to feed homeless citizens who are staying at the local St Matthias Church and community centre.

The meals were provided courtesy of donations from the Learning Support Department, Shannon Malavase, Emma Coles and Khadzy. Young people who participated were Kiera, Kibria, Nila, Sadi, Samiul, Shahel and John. On the menu was shepherds’ pie, vegetable Enchiladas, cakes, bread pudding and cherry bakewell cupcakes. The youngsters from SPLASH Life Skills came in after school, tidied the hall and set up all the beds for the homeless guests.

SPLASH Life Skills Project leader Amrana Bint Shofiqul said, “With winter fast approaching we wanted to make a difference to the lives of our fellow citizens, and thanks to the generosity of staff at Langdon Park School and the dedication of youngsters at our project we have been able to bring a smile to the faces of those in need.”
