ALLERGIES are serious – and when they are severe, exposure to the substance which causes the allergic reaction can be fatal.
Sainsbury’s have recognised the danger which accidental exposure can pose, and the supermarket recalled one of its lamb products when it discovered that the product contained milk – which was not mentioned in the list of ingredients on the label.
The product which has been recalled is Sainsbury’s slow cooked lamb shoulder with reducurrant honey and rosemary glaze. It comes in a 400g pack. The packages being recalled have a batch code of 8090642 and a use-by date of 21st January 2026.
Sainsbury’s is displaying posters at the point of sale in its stores. Customers who have bought this product are advised not to eat it but to return it to the store where they bought it for a full refund.
