Get ready for a right royal run!

The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is one of East London’s newest parks – and it’s the host to one of running’s newest events, which began two years after the 2012 Olympics. On the first Saturday of every month, the park hosts a 10k run, organised by The Race Organiser.

As runners pound round the flat, smooth course which takes them through one of East London’s few legacies of the Olympic Games, they will be able to view other Olympic venues – the London Aquatics Centre, the Copper Box Arena, Lee Valley VeloPark, Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre and the London Stadium itself.

The course consists of three laps, all run on tarmac or hard gravel pathway. It is suitable for runners of all abilities – though racers are asked to be vigilant of other runners, spectators, dogs, cyclists and other users of public footpaths and rights of way.

This 10K course has been completed more than 15,000 times – by first-timers, beginners, long-time runners and elite 10,000m athletes. Some runners have been chasing a 10K personal best, while others set themselves the goal of completing the course. Around 500 runners take part in each race, looking forward to receiving their souvenir medals and goody bags, while spectators cheer on the runners, adding to the brilliant race day atmosphere.
