CEDRIC KIYAGO sent Liam Harman a text message, calling him “a dead man”. Then he murdered him. And now Kiyago is beginning a life sentence.
Harman, 28, from Harold Hill, was found in the communal area of a block of flats in Straight Road, Romford, in July last year. Paramedics battled to save him, but he died at the scene. A post mortem revealed that he had suffered a ten stab wounds, as well as other knife injuries.
Kiyago was tried at the Old Bailey, in a trial which lasted seven weeks. The Court was told that. Kiyago was a local drug dealer who believed that Harman, who himself used drugs, had robbed people who were acting as runners for Kiyago.
Kiyago committed the murder while out of prison on licence, having been sent there for previous drug dealing offences. He was returned to prison after being charged with the murder as this amounted to a breach of that licence. He attended the murder trial from prison.
Kiyago was convicted of murder on 16th April He returned to the Court on 4th May and was sentenced to life imprisonment with the requirement to serve a minimum of 29 years. Kiyago is just 22 years old. Harman leaves two young sons.
