A 100-run partnership between Rishad Haque and Vice Captain Sajal Rahman and a four wicket haul by Zisan Abedin has left Scintilla on the verge of National Cricket League championship success as the Barking & Dagenham side put early League leaders Redbridge CC to the sword.

Scintilla batted first to reach 272/9 from 40 overs. Rishad’s artistic stroke play for 75 not out was a key feature, with Scintilla on 105/6 when he took to the crease. There were contributions from Ashfaqur Nobel (29), Juwel Roy (25), and Sajal Rahman (25).

Redbridge were bowed out for 157 from 28 overs, with Amandeep also reaching 75. Zisan Abedin took four wickets, Nobel two – and Ayaz Karim, B.A. Chowdhury and Ahmad Norharif Hamidon took one each.

Scintilla captain Ayaz Karim said, “Rishad’s innings was amazing. We are not counting any chickens and our preparations for the next game against London Tigers remain exactly the same.”
