Reports of shooting at Mile End Tube

By admin1

March 24, 2018

REPORTS started coming in late on Friday night that there had been a shooting at Mile End Tube station.

Eye witness accounts were being posted on Twitter – but with little detail of what had actually gone on. The first impression is that an injured person has been given medical assistance just outside the Tube station.

Transport for London (TfL) confirmed that the police had asked for Mile End Tube station to be closed – and this had been done. Passengers report tubes going through the station but not stopping.  At approximately midnight, TfL reported that the station had re-opened.

The Metropolitan Police have not made any official comment yet, but a large number of officers are in the area, with one eye witness counting seven police cars.

The incident was also reported to be affecting traffic going along the A11 Mile End Road/Bow Road, with tailbacks beginning to build up.
