Police seek acid attackers one week on

POLICE ARE reviewing CCTV footage and following up other leads in their investigation into an acid attack which took place just after Christmas near the South Quay DLR Station.

It was just before 7pm on Wednesday, 27th December when someone threw a strong acid over a woman on Marsh Wall, near the station. The victim ran away and reached the nearby Westferry Road.

Police attended, as did the London Ambulance Service, which took the victim to hospital. She was diagnosed with life changing burns to her leg and face.

Police have asked any members of the public who were in the area at the time, who witnessed the attack or anyone acting suspiciously at this time last Wednesday or who has any other information to contact Tower Hamlets CID on 020–7275 4550. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800-555 111, where you can give information anonymously.
