ONE PERSON has died and two others are injured after a collision between two vehicles in Limehouse. The collision occurred at approximately 3.30am on Sunday, 5th April.
The accident occurred at the junction between Commercial Road and East India Dock Road in Limehouse. This junction which has seen major roadworks over the last few weeks, with lanes blocked off and restrictions on turning.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service attended the scene quickly and found three people with serious injuries. Despite the best endeavours of staff from the emergency services, a woman in her 30s, who had been a passenger in one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. One is in his 20s and one in his 40s. They were both injured in the collision and are still in hospital.
Sergeant John Dale from the Metropolitan Police Road Policing Unit said, “Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time. As we try to build up a full picture of the incident, we are appealing to speak to anyone who may have witnessed it – particularly if they have CCTV or dashcam footage.”
