In preparation for their Abu Dhabi and Dubai tour, Abdul Basit’s Oldham Veterans Football Club (OVFC) will play FC London in a friendly in Birmingham on Sunday, 2nd October. Both teams have a special bond and many of the OVFC squad have in the past toured Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka with FC London.

FC London is a respected touring veterans squad consisting of pioneers of British Bangladeshi football and true footballing legends from down south. The match on Sunday is a demonstration of the great friendship and unity amongst veteran players from the north, midlands and the south of England.

Fokrul Uddin from FC London said, “Oldham Vets are a community oriented club and are ambassadors for football. We are pleased to provide the opposition for what will be a good warm up game for them. We wish them the best of luck on their travels.”

OVFC player and Chair Jewel Miah MBE added, “We are all set for a brilliant touring experience and would like to thank FC London for agreeing to play us. We are also grateful to our very own Saiful Islam for arranging the Birmingham venue for our game. It promises to be a great game and a fantastic get together for us all.”
