After establishing “Run 4 Your Mosque” as a regular fund-raising event, the East London Mosque it moving up a gear – literally! Plans have been announced for “Ride 4 Your Mosque 2016” on 20th March.

It’s going to be two wheels for two purposes. First, the Mosque wants to secure its financial future by paying off debts incurred in the building of the Maryam Centre and the recent purchase of the Synagogue building. Second, the Mosque hopes to remind the community that cycling can be part of a healthier lifestyle and to remind cyclists of key safety issues.

As a bonus, the Mosque is promising that Ride 4 Your Bike will be fun! Cyclists will start at Windsor Castle and will then cycle about 30 miles to the finishing line in Altab Ali Park – just by the East London Mosque itself. There will be experienced cyclists all along the route to help make the ride as safe as possible. There will be also be plenty of water and refreshment stops along the route.

The registration fee is £20 per person and your target is to raise at least £200 by gaining sponsorship from friends, family and possibly local businesses. The Mosque will help cyclists raise sponsorship. The top fundraiser will have the opportunity to win an Apple iPad.

The event will be held from 10am to 5pm on Sunday, 20th March and the deadline for registering is Monday, 14th March. The event is open to men and boys aged over 16, who must provide their own bike.
