Members of Neighbours in Poplar had a productive weekend as youngsters planned, ran and sold goods at a community event to raise money for a girls school in Bangladesh. The young people came up with the idea after hearing stories of the issues faced by young women who want to study at school. The group sold bric a brac, and all proceeds will be sent to the Haji Saleha Khatun Mohila Madresha in Bangladesh.

Team leader Amrana Bint Shofique said, “We have such a good group of youngsters – they are talented and enterprising. They are caring and mature in their outlook. They wanted to help the girls and support their education and planned this stall from beginning to end. It’s brilliant that at this age they are making such a difference.”
