A MAN WAS battered to death in Ilford last night in what appears to be an attack by a group of men carrying baseball bats. The incident occurred in the High Road, Ilford.

It was just after 2.45am when the emergency services received reports that there was an injured male in the High Road. The ambulance service attended and took him to an East London Hospital, but he died shortly after arrival, at 4.35am.
