IN RECOGNITION of the hot weather, Mayor Lutfur Rahman took his tie off when he opened the Ben Johnson Community Day – and indulged in a cold beverage.
He was joined by local residents and small businesses, who also braved the hot weather to come out and have some fun in the heart of Stepney. The Ocean Business Association organised a local enterprise market in partnership with the Council. There was food and family activities.
Why stop at Stepney? There are several little areas around Tower Hamlets, based around small shopping precints, that could host a good fun day. Why not approach your local councillor and ask them to help put something together?
