The Lonely Orphans team held a fete in Brady Street, Whitechapel, to raise awareness of the charity’s aims, objectives and campaigns. The charity empowers orphan children and their families by providing the tools needed to make positive changes to their lives.
The community event attracted locals as well as visitors from neighbouring boroughs. There were toy and bric a brac stalls, food, drinks, an ice cream van and a bouncy castle for youngsters.
The UK based charity has been working with the Rohingya people – who are dubbed the most persecuted ethnic group on Earth – since 2013. They have helped thousands of vulnerable women and children with emergency food, shelter, medicine, education and many other amenities.
Lonely Orphans Fundraising Manager Md Imran said, “We experienced a pleasant day today with lots of diverse visitors and I feel we have done a lot to raise the profile of the excellent work we do. Thank you to our donors, supporters and well wishers for a great day.” •For more information about Lonely Orphans, go to: https://www.lonelyorphans.org
