“WALK DABIR CHACHA!” is a rallying call to everyone, calling on them to walk in the footsteps of the 100 year old sensation Dabirul Islam Choudhury OBE.
During the first Coronavirus lockdown, the East London centenarian was inspired by the late, great Captain Sir Tom to walk laps of his garden and raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity. Now thousands will emulate him and walk to benefit 26 UK-based charities which work with the destitute, the needy and those facing hardship.
Students from the London Enterprise Academy have completed a walk in honour of Mr Choudhury and raised thousands of pounds in the process.
London Enterprise Academy Headteacher Ashid joined his students on the walk. He said, “Amongst our students we work hard to foster and instil the desire to serve those less fortunate. Well done everybody on a phenomenal effort to raise thousands of pounds for so many worthy causes, especially while fasting.”
