Kent: back in reach by Monday

The collapse of the pedestrian bridge over the M20 – caused by a wayward truck last week – has led to traffic delays and problems for Londoners trying to travel out to Kent and on to the Channel Tunnel or Port of Dover.

Last weekend the dangerous parts of the bridge were removed so that the road could be re-opened during the week. However, the road has been closed again this weekend for the remaining parts of the bridge to be removed.

Fortunately, Highways England has thrown resources at the problem, with around 100 workers doing the necessary to get the remaining structure safely out of the way. Work has been reported to be going well, and the road is due to re-open at 6am on Monday.
