PHOTOS HAVE NOW reached the UK which show the Islamic Relief aid effort on the Indonesian island of Lombok, which was badly hit by an earthquake on 5th August.

The UK-based charity has been distributing basic food and drinking water, as well as materials which can be used to construct emergency shelters.

It is unusual these days to respond to a natural disaster, with aid agencies so often having to mop up the human cost of war. The human suffering is, however, the same.
