A TEENAGER needed hospital treatment after being slashed by a mystery man with a Stanley knife. Now police have released an image of a man they would like to identify and interview in connection with the incident.

The incident occurred at approximately 3pm on Saturday, 25th January in a bakery in Market Square, E14. The victim was in the bakery when a man whom he did not know came up to him and began talking to him. The stranger then slashed at the teenager’s arm with a Stanley knife, before running away.

Detective Constable Luke Martinez, the investigating officer, said: “This was a shocking attack in the middle of the day in a busy area. I would like to hear from anyone who recognises the man pictured or has any information of his whereabouts.”

Anyone who can help the police investigation is asked to contact police via 101 and quote reference CAD 4594/25Jan. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800-555 111 and give information anonymously.
