Allergies can be very serious. Some need emergency treatment and exposure to allergens can even be fatal. One of the common allergens is fish, and it is important that this ingredient is declared on the label so that those who have allergies can check. As the presence of fish has not been mentioned on the label, Filippo Berio are acting on the safe side and recalling the product.
The affected product is called Hot Chilli Pesto and comes in a pack size of 190g. The batch code is LR319 and the best before date is 15th May 2028.
Anyone who has any Filippo Berio UK Hot Chilli Pesto at home should take it back to the store where it was bought, where you should receive a full refund. We usually like to give a contact phone number or email when we publicise food alerts, but on this occasion the Filippo Berio UK recall notice just states: “For more information contact us on <insert company phone number and e-mail address>. This seems to be a case of information which should be on the alert notice not actually being mentioned. The company may need to look at their processes.
