THE Tower Hamlets Food Growers are offering local gardeners a series of tips and opportunities to help us enjoy our favourite pastime during what we hope is the last stage of the lockdown.
Pest Control It’s the time of year when war is waged between the small and slimy inhabitants of your garden and you, the gardener, as you try to grow you dinner. Now WEN has produced a short video to show you how to use natural methods to control unwelcome visitors, but still be kind. Watch it here: Pest Control video
Question Time Nothing beats a bit of personal advice, and WEN is offering an online webinar on Zoom from 3-4pm on Wednesday, 24th June where a panel of experts will try to answer your questions, as well as offering seasonal tips. To join them, register here: Register
Growing Tutorials Personal contact is probably the best way to learn new growing skills, but coming a close second (at a time when personal contact is hard to come by) is WEN’s series of tutorials on YouTube. The films focus on a single plant or a single skill and, at around 5 minutes, they beckon you to watch – because they are clearly going to be focussed and useful, not padded out with pompous and pointless waffle. Watch them here: Growing Tutorials
Globe Community Food Growing Garden This Garden in Bethnal Green is looking for new volunteers to join in socially distanced gardening sessions. As well as lots of practical gardening now, a her workshop is planned to happen soon. For more information contact Sally: sallyconnecting@gmail.com 07973-689 362
