Fight in Newham pizza joint ends in stabbing

CUSTOMERS WERE shocked when a fight broke out in Mahins Pizza Peri Peri Grill on Station Road, Newham last month – and even more stunned when the fight ended up with an 18 year old man being stabbed.

The incident happened at approximately 8pm on Friday, 6th October – and police have now released CCTV footage of the incident in the hope that members of the public will be able to assist them in identifying the suspects they wish to speak to.

Two suspects who began fighting with the victim, and one produced a knife. As the victim tried to escape behind the counter, the suspect stabbed him three times. An ambulance was called and took the victim to an East London Hospital. Fortunately, he was well enough to be discharged after treatment.

The first suspect is described as a teenager who is black and was wearing a dark blue hooded top over a grey hooded top.

The second suspect is described as a teenager who is black and was wearing a dark black, padded jacket over a black hooded top and striped tracksuit trousers.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Phil Fox, from Newham CID, said, “This is an attack on a man who suffered multiple stab wounds from his ordeal. We are asking for anyone who recognises these two teenagers to come forward and assist us with our investigation.”
