FIFTH TEENAGER has now been arrested in connection with the murder of 17 year old Lord Promise Nkenda in Canning Town on Valentine’s Day.

Three young men – two aged 17 and one aged just 14 – have already been charged with murder. A third 17 year old male was arrested on suspicion of murder on 19th February. He was bailed until mid-March while inquiries continue and he has now been released but remains under investigation.

A fifth arrest, also on suspicion of murder, was made on 8th March. The teen arrested was 18 years old. He has been bailed until early April while inquiries continue.

The investigation into how Promise met his death is by no means over. Police are still asking anyone with information to come forward and help end the cycle of Newham youngsters being stabbed to death.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Homicide and Major Crime Command incident room on 020-8345 3775 or via 101, quoting reference 8884/14Feb. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800-555 111, where you can give information anonymously.
