TOWER HAMLETS Palestine Solidarity Campaign and the Bromley-by-Bow Centre are joining forces to support a free showing of the Oscar-nominated film 5 Broken Cameras on Thursday, 24th October.
The film is a deeply personal, first-hand account of non-violent resistance in Bil’in, a West Bank village threatened by encroaching Israeli settlements. Shot almost entirely by Palestinian farmer Emad Burnat, who bought his first camera in 2005 to record the birth of his youngest son, the film follows one family’s evolution over five years of turmoil in their village.
The evening begins with refreshments and a chance to see Portrait of Palestine – an exhibition of Tim Sanders’ sketches of Palestine. A 2018 calendar of Sanders’ drawings will be available for purchase. The film begins at 6.45pm and continues until 8.15pm.
•The film evening begins at 6pm at the Bromley-by-Bow Centre, St Leonard’s Street, E3 3BT (nearest Tube Bromley-by-Bow). For more information about the event or to purchase a calendar, email: thpalestinesolidarity@gmail.com
