Emdad Rahman celebrated reaching 100k to help raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s Research UK by enjoying a cup of tea with Councillor Khales Ahmed – the Speaker of Tower Hamlets. He said, “Emdad’s achievement is a tremendous source of pride for us all. I hope he carries on with this.”
Running Down Dementia is a new challenge from Parkrun and Alzheimer’s Research UK. The aim is for runners to pledge to run 100km and raise £100 to help strike a blow in the battle against dementia.
Emdad said, “I’m delighted to join this elite club. I cycle a lot more now, but it was great getting back into running again. I have run solo and with my son – and I have had great fun taking selfies with my mascot Khadija (a local blind child), my football teams, Scintilla Cricket Club and people in my community. They have all been a part of this achievement. I am pondering about continuing the routine as clocking up more kilometres.”
