ELFT Re Election Success For Rofiqul

Rofiqul Islam BCAc, Freeman of the City of London has been re elected as a Public Governor.

The Thirty seven year old community activist is a renowned local community activist and is confirmed to serve a second term with the East London Foundation Trust.

The ELFT provides a wide range of mental health, community health, primary care, wellbeing and inpatient services to young people, working age adults and older adults across the City of London, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Bedford and Luton, pooling resources and much of London’s major mental health expertise to become one of the UK’s largest specialist NHS providers.

The Trust was awarded university status in recognition of extensive research and education work. It now has an international research profile thanks to collaboration with Queen Mary’s, University of London, as The Unit for Social and Community Psychiatry.

Islam expressed his thanks after the results were announced, “I am grateful and honored to be reelected for a second term as a Public Governor for the ELFT Tower Hamlets constituency and it’s a privilege to continue serving the vibrant communities of Tower Hamlets – Thank you all for your trust and support.”
