FOYSOL HUSSAIN, a PC attached to the East Area Command Unit, was found guilty of gross misconduct on 15th April after a two day telephone hearing.

It was alleged that: on 18th February 2019 PC Hussain had been required to take a “with cause” drugs test, the result of which was positive for cannabis; PC Hussain had accessed crime reports with no lawful or justifiable reason for doing so; PC Hussain had not declared connections he had with a person which should have been declared.

It was found that former PC Hussain had breached the following Standards of Professional Behaviour: discreditable conduct, fitness for duty, confidentiality, and duties and responsibilities.  It was found that this amounted to gross misconduct.

PC Hussain was no longer a serving police officer by the time of the hearing, but it was determined that he would have been dismissed without notice if he had still been a serving police officer.  The hearing ordered that Hussain be placed on the College of Policing barred list.
