East End women harbour escaped convicts

TWO WOMEN – one from Tower Hamlets and one from Ilford – pleaded guilty to charges relating to escaped prisoners when they appeared at Blackfriars Crown Court last week.

Kelly Baker, 22, of Friars Close, Ilford, pleaded guilty to a charge of harbouring an escaped prisoner and Chelsea Gibson, 25, of Four Seasons Close, Bow, E3, pleaded guilty to a charge of assisting an escaped prisoner. The two will return to court on Monday, 3rd July, for sentencing.

The charges related to Matthew Baker, 29, and James Anthony Whitlock, 32, who escaped from HMP Pentonville on 7th November 2016. Both were subsequently found and arrested. The two appeared at Blackfriars Crown Court last week. Baker was sentenced to 30 months imprisonment, to run consecutively with his current life sentence. Whitlock was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment, to run consecutively with his current prison term.
