CKC Launch New Hub And Exciting Community Projects

Capital Kids Cricket, the London based youth development charity have launched the CKC Community Hub in Whitechapel, east London.

The new community space, supported by Lateral, will provide a range of activities for disadvantaged residents of Tower Hamlets and beyond.

Guests who attended the launch event were present led with a breakdown of activities to be delivered and include:

– An evening Youth Club for young people aged 11 to 17. – Female only exercise classes – Mother and daughter afternoons – Computer literacy classes for adults

Through these sessions and further activities to be added in future CKC aim to have a tangible impact on the local community with the focus firmly based on working with the community to reduce young offending, improve health and wellbeing, and improve and offer opportunities to enhance the career prospects of local people.

Speaking after the inauguration of the Community Hub Shahidul Alam Ratan, CEO at Capital Kids Cricket said:

“Our new Community Hub represents a new and exciting chapter for Capital Kids Cricket. We are thankful to Lateral for the opportunity to have a space from which to deliver projects and activities that will have a huge impact on the local community. Following today’s launch, we are raring to get to work right away and to deliver on our exciting plans!”

Activities and facilities:

Table cricket – Table tennis – Carrom – Pool table – Meeting room for up to 10 people – Studio for exercise classes – Workshop space for up to 30 people – School holiday activities – PlayStation – VR – Cricket & E games – Women and girls only days with physical activities – Life skill workshops for young people.
