Organisers of the first ever Vitality WestRun London, the latest race to join the growing Vitality Run Series, are pleased to announce both Cancer Research UK and Alzheimer’s Society as official charity partners for the much anticipated 10k event taking place on Sunday 15th November!

Kathryn Hurrell, Sports Team Manager, at Cancer Research UK said: “Cancer Research UK is so proud to be partnering with Vitality WestRun London in its inaugural year! As one of the chosen charities we hope to not only raise vital funds towards our life saving research into all types of cancer but also raise awareness of ways we can prevent this horrendous disease that affects one in two people in the UK. Forty percent of all cancers could be avoided through us making different lifestyle choices including eating a healthy diet and doing regular exercise hence why we love partnering with sports events like the Vitality WestRun London. Cancer Research UK doesn’t receive a penny from the government so we need your support to ensure we bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.”

Sian Wilkinson, Events Fundraising Officer, at Alzheimer’s Society said: “Alzheimer’s Society is delighted to be involved in the first year of this exciting event, which we are sure will become a major fixture in the London running calendar. Our team will have a fantastic time running the beautiful Vitality WestRun London route, and raising much needed funds to help us defeat dementia.”

Vitality WestRun London is a fresh and exciting new 10k to hit the capital, set among the beautiful streets of West London. The flat 10k run starts next to the race village at Eel Brook Common, on the famous New Kings Road, where runners will then take on traffic free streets including New Kings Road, Parsons Green, Fulham Road and Fulham Broadway. The event is billed as a community festival for runners of all ages and abilities, and will also play host to a one mile Family Fun Run, open to anyone over the age of four.

Jamie Warren, Head of Marketing and Commercial at race organiser GO2, said: “We are delighted to announce Cancer Research UK and Alzheimer’s Society as our charity partners for the inaugural Vitality WestRun London 10k event! As with all of our race partners, we seek out those who have a direct impact within the areas that we host our events, and through our partnerships we can go a small way to ensure this good work can continue. Whether you’ve already got the running bug, or are a first timer looking to take on a fun new challenge with family and friends for charity, this is the perfect race for everyone to get involved with at all levels!”

Places are extremely limited and will sell out fast, so to be part of something really special, visit www.westrunlondon.com where entries are now open at the special early bird price of £35. Entry costs just £10 per person for the Family Fun Run and is open to everyone over the age of four.
