A TEAM OF mountaineers are leaving behind the sizzling weather in London to go off to bonny Scotland and climb Ben Nevis.

The team started their journey at the Hedgecock Centre in Barking & Dagenham with a Dementia Friends information session before commencing travelling by minibus to Fort William.

BRTUK is a UK registered charity primarily focused on providing regeneration and development support for rural Bangladesh through educational, livelihood and health initiatives.

These areas are often neglected, but rife with poverty and extreme hardship. Any small initiatives, such as those delivered by BRTUK, make a huge impact on many lives, especially women and children.

BRTUK Chair Nazir Ali said, “We are climbing Ben Nevis in approximately ten hours time. We need funds for dignity packs for women which cost £20 and are also hoping to use your generosity to empower women in Bangladesh through education in rural areas.”
