An entertaining high scoring 6-6 draw wowed the crowds at Mile End Stadium Astroturf as members of Beanibazar Sporting Club UK faced off as part of an exhibition benefit game for a Bangladeshi Cancer Hospital.

Two Beanibazar teams, led by midfielder Abdul Wadud and full back Abdul Hamid Yusuf, faced off in a competitive friendly to help raise awareness of and funds for Beanibazar Cancer Hospital (BBCH) which is situated in the Sylhet region of Bangladesh. Highlights included goalkeeper Sham Zaman chipping a goal from his own half and three missed penalties by BBCH trustees.

Beanibazar Cancer Hospital CEO M Shab Uddin attended the game and handed special certificates to all the players. He said, “Ours is a unique charity. We are there for everybody. It is tremendous that today we have used the game of football to raise awareness of what we are trying to do to alleviate the suffering of fellow humans who are stricken with cancer. I’m very proud of what we have achieved here today.”

Referee Alan Hill officiated during the big game and donated his match fee as well as a personal donation towards the cause. He said, “Beanibazar Cancer Hospital is a very worthy cause and I’m honoured to have been asked to be referee. It was a great occasion and all for a terrific cause. Well done everybody.”
