Barking bag snatch: can you help ID this man?

Detectives from Barking and Dagenham borough have today, Wednesday, 22 June, issued CCTV footage of the moment a brazen thief stole a woman’s purse as she choose items from a convenience store. This has been released in an effort to identify and speak with the man seen in the footage, who is wanted for questioning in connection with the offence.

The incident took place at around 10.15am on Saturday, 21st May in the Londis shop in Station Parade, Barking. Police were called to the scene and were told that a man had snatched a purse, which contained cash, from a woman shopper.

Officers reviewed local CCTV and found it captured the moment the suspect walked into the shop and made his way to the side of the shop next to the fridges. While the victim was taking some items out of the fridge, the suspect grabbed hold of her purse from her open bag and ran out of the store. He then cycled off on his bicycle towards Cambridge Road.
