Akshay Kumar’s new film, Brothers, launches on 14th August – and the star has been praising the high quality of the stunt work in the film. Brothers used the same expert stunt team as Hollywood film Warriors – who were very impressed with the quality of the action sequences. Akshay Kumar explained: “The stunt team from LA which did our action scenes in Brothers said we surpassed the quality of fights that were shot in the original Hollywood film Warrior!”

As befits an action hero who does all his own stunts, rugged Akshay has decided to age naturally and gracefully – and let his physical prowess do the talking. He believes in eating healthily and working out rather than trying to look younger artificially. “If I am 50, I should look like 50,” he has said – rather a contrast with younger stars who are constantly chasing their youth. “Today it has become a joke to take enhancers, powders, shakes or steroids. When you eat these artificial enhancers, your muscles will die within a month of not exercising.”

However, the tables were turned on the film star during the filming of Brothers when he and co-star Sidharth Malhotra had false name cards stuck on their behinds by a mystery prankster. Sidharth was named as “Vinod Mehra”, but Akshay was labelled “Sanjeev Kumar”.

For Akshay, who is known for playing the pranks rather than being pranked himself. He took it all in good spirts, tweeting a picture, with the caption: “I may have a reputation of a prankster but @Brothers2015 was one set where even I was played a prank on. #goodtimes.”

Brothers, a hard hitting, action drama tells the story of a broken family whose members are forced to face up to one another mentally and physically – all within the world of mixed martial arts and underground street fighting. The film, a co-production between Endemol India and one of India’s leading production companies Dharma Productions, is out on 14th August.
