Members and activity participants at Age UK based in Caxton Hall, Bow recently attended an information session to become Dementia Friends.

The lunchtime awareness programme in partnership with Malmesbury Community Projects (MCP) a grassroots charity organisation for the community addressed many aspects of Dementia.

MCP Secretary Naz Ali also attended the session and commented, “We are very pleased that some of the needs of vulnerable members of our community are being considered. Dementia affects more than just the individual and we are all committed to positive actions to make things better for all.”

Dementia Friends Champions are trained volunteers who encourage others to learn a little bit about dementia. Champions run Information Sessions in their community and inspire others to help those living with dementia live well.

Whether you attend a face-to-face Session or watch the online video, Dementia Friends is about learning more about dementia and the small ways you can help. From telling friends about Dementia Friends to visiting someone you know living with dementia, every action counts.
