Abu Nasir is aiming to rejoin Liverpool Football Club

Abu Nasir is standing for selection in the Liverpool Football Club (LFC) Supporters Committee, in the Family Match Goers category.

Abu was an inaugural member of the LFC Supporters Committee. His skills and experience include 33 years involvement in football as a player, coach and administrator. He is an FA Licensed football coach, founder and Chair of a local football club. Abu has also been involved with Kick it Out for over 20 years and is currently an Advisor and Ambassador. His past experience includes board, committee and advisory roles across grassroots and professional clubs, the FA and UEFA – particularly on issues which concern football fans. Past and current partnership work includes working with the FA, Premier League and Football League, Football Supporters Federation, KiO and Government agencies.

In his statement Abu said: “I believe I can act as a strong conduit for our family supporters and the club by providing innovative ideas and solutions in tackling the issues faced by supporters through my diplomacy and influencing skills and finding the right balance for the club and its fans. I am a follower of the great Bill Shankly and believe success can happen through collective effort and ensuring everyone works together in achieving the same rewards.”

He added: “I am a traditional and ‘old school’ football supporter who believes in finding the right balance in the continuously changing football industry through effective engagement of football as a business without having a detrimental adverse impact on supporters who are the most important people in football, and making sure our club is providing an equitable solution to supporters issues and concerns including decisions of economic and social impact on fans.

“I am able to dedicate the time, energy and strategic direction to effectively engage and represent our huge fanbase and humbly request the support of the great ‘Reds’ family to represent your interests.”

Abu has three young sons, whom he takes to Anfield often. He understands the needs of the fans and has an impeccable record in community matters.
