Celebrations are in order after the Inner London Football League received The Recognised Project Award at the celebrated London Dangoor Awards by The Faith & Belief Forum.

The celebrations are an annual celebration of the diverse efforts of London’s faith and belief communities, fostering unity and inclusivity across the city.

The Inner London Football League (ILFL) The ILFL is entirely run by volunteers who are passionate about football and supporting communities through the Beautiful Game.

The ILFL has been recognised as the “Official Tower Hamlets League” by Tower Hamlets council since 2008 and over the years the league has evolved from a purely Sunday based winter league to hosting several competitions serving various age groups.

These awards recognise the creative, generous and vital work of London’s faith and belief communities by bringing together local heroes and shining a light on their inspirational work.

Inner London Football League Chairman Rashid Ali is pleased with the recognition resulting from his teams work in the community, “I am deeply honoured to accept this prestigious Interfaith Award on behalf of our team of volunteers. It is a testament to the power of football as a unifying force, capable of transcending boundaries of faith, culture, and background. Over the years, delivering football opportunities to thousands of players from diverse communities has been an incredible journey. Seeing young players, coaches, and supporters come together in harmony, united by their love for the game, has been truly inspiring.

“This award recognises not just the work of the Inner London Football League, but the spirit of inclusion and mutual respect that drives everything we do. In a world that can sometimes feel divided, it is vital that we embrace our differences and celebrate what brings us together. By fostering a multifaith and multicultural environment within football, we create not only better players but better citizens.”

“I want to thank everyone who has supported our initiatives – from faith leaders to volunteers, and from players to fans. This is your award as much as it is ours. Let this be a reminder that when we come together in the spirit of unity, there is no limit to what we can achieve—on or off the pitch.”
