Which borough will get the best Newham score?

There’s just two weeks to go till the Morrisons Great Newham London run – and an extra inter-borough competitive element has been introduced. Athlete Paula Radcliffe has encouraged Londoners, especially women, to join in the race, but now she’s looking at performance. She’s announced that everyone’s times will be added up and allocated to their home borough, so that a “fastest borough” can be announced after the run.

Paula is looking forward to seeing which London borough will emerge to be the fastest. She explains: “I am intrigued to see how fast the men and women of each London borough are. I’m sure there will be stiff competition and it will be great to see who is the fastest. 10k is great for the occasional runner or first timer. Most people can get ready with just a little training so I suggest all London residents get their trainers on and do their borough proud.”

The Newham Run is expected to attract up to 15,000 runners. It will take place over a 10km course in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park – so runners will cross the Olympic finish line itself.
