Tigers reach finals of UK Bangladesh Championship

London Tigers reached the finals of the UK Bangladesh Championship Football Tournament on Sunday 11th May in Milton Keynes in a 14 team competition. Tigers came second in the group stages and went to the quarter-finals to win 3-0 against Beaumont FC (who had beaten Tigers in the ILFL League Cup). In the semi-finals against, the Tigers won 1-0 against Cambridge thanks to a penalty taken by Zahir Farid.

The final, London Tigers v West Yorkshire FC, will take place on Wednesday 28th May at the MK Dons Football Stadium. The kick-off is at 5.30 pm and spectators are welcome to attend for free to watch this North versus South match.

“It was a good performance by the Bangladeshi players in Tigers,” said Armand Kavaja. “London Tigers showed that they have strong players within the Bangladeshi community.”

The national tournament is organised and hosted by Mk Gallactico in partnership with Inner London Football League and Shapla Football League Birmingham. Silk Road Restaurant provided hospitality.
