Third gang member charged after Hackney acid attacks

TWO YOUNG MEN were convicted last October of carrying out robberies in Hackney – and using corrosive substances in the process. They were each sentenced, last December, to 14 years in prison.

Sadik Kamara and Joshua Jordan were not alone when they carried out the attacks – but they did not seem to be revealing the identities of who else was with them. As Kamara and Jordan were sentenced, police vowed to continue investigating to try to bring the other attacker or attackers to justice.

Now police have announced that they have charged a third man with offences connected with the attacks Kamara and Jordan carried out. He is Peter Brown, 28, of Hope Avenue, Stanford-Le-Hope, Essex.

Brown was charged on 30th January with four offences:
•attempted robbery on 10 March 2017, at a supermarket in Mare Street, E8;
•throwing or casting a corrosive fluid with intent on 10 March 2017, at a supermarket in Mare Street, E8;
•robbery on 10 March 2017, at Hassett Road, E9;
•throwing or casting a corrosive fluid on 10 March 2017, at Hassett Road, E9.

Brown is being held in custody and is due to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on 28th February.
