Mujib Islam of Medialink UK added, “I have met lots of journalists who promote our communities through little or no financial recompense. This tournament is dedicated to their efforts. I am confident that our writers and broadcasters will have a great day out.”
During the evening, twice Greater Sylhet Upazila Cup winning captain Repon Chowdhury was named as the UK Bangla Media Cup Commissioner.
Shah Yousuf of LB24TV said, “It is great that we have for the very first time a cup for the media. We are at the forefront of promoting our community and it is nice to feel appreciated by way of this tournament being held for us.
