Teacher jailed after sexual activity with boy

A TEACHER who lived in East London has been jailed for 16 months after pleading guilty to seven counts of adult abuse of a position of trust. Alice McBrearty, 23, of Wanstead Park Avenue, E12, was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday, 6th October.

The offences were sexual acts with a boy aged 13 to 17 years which occurred between February and May this year. Police from the Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Command began an investigation into Ms McBrearty after receiving a complaint in May. Ms McBrearty was arrested almost immediately and bailed while police carried out an investigation which concluded with her being charged.
