Scintilla go second after Aztecs win

ISHAQ SHAWN scored a hugely crucial 80 runs and took 4 wickets as Scintilla CC comprehensively defeated Aztecs CC after bowling out their Essex County Cricket League (ECCL) rivals for 106 runs.

Shawn was supported by ever consistent Rishad Haque, who added another 40 runs to see Scintilla romp home to victory.

After tea, Aztecs reached 106 all out from 36 overs, with Naveed (15) and Satbir (14) high scoring. Morshed Rahman (1), Ayaz Karim (2), Amit Arafat (2) and Mashuk (1) added to Shawn’s contribution.

Scintilla are now sitting pretty in second place.

First Team Captain Ahmed Choudhury said: “In the ECCL there are no easy games and this championship can be won by a number of teams. It’s nice to win comprehensively in the end, but I have earmarked some improvements for us to work on.”
