On yer bike – and save a life!

SJA-device-new-60St John Ambulance is raising money with a 100km cycle ride – with a difference. The fundraising jaunt will be undertaken by moonlight! Fortunately, the fundraiser does not take place till Saturday, 8th June – when the moonlight should be rather more pleasant than it is now, in early spring.

The “Nightrider 2013” riders will cycle by 50 of London’s best known sites, including Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf, London Zoo, Piccadilly Circus, the British Museum, the London Eye, the Houses of Parliament and Trafalgar Square. Cyclists will also ride through the City of London, where they will be able to admire the architecture of London’s posh business district in unprecedented quiet.

St John Ambulance is a charity which ensures that first aid is available at many public events. All funds raised during “Nightrider 2013” will go straight to the charity and could make the difference between a life lost and a life saved.

St John’s Scott Jacobson explained: “St John Ambulance relies on the incredible hard work of its fundraisers to carry out its charitable work. By signing up to Nightrider in aid of St John Ambulance, you are getting the chance to experience a unique event while raising funds to allow more people to learn essential first aid.”

Those who wish to join the fundraising tour will be asked to pay a registration fee of £39 and raise a minimum of £175 in sponsorship.

To sign up for the event, please contact Rebecca Round at St John Ambulance on 0207-324 4173 or events@sja.org.uk.
