Hop along: London’s brewing!

londonbrewerslogoThe London Brewers’ Alliance is celebrating London’s brewing talent with a branch new festival – to be held in our own London Fields at the start of May. Brewing has been taking off in the capital in recent years, prompting brewers to set up the Alliance in 2010 to celebrate the re-emergence of the art within the M25 area.

The festival will see over 100 beers, brewed by the Alliance’s 30+ breweries, on offer to the public. Well known, established brewers will bring their well known tipples, and they will be joined by some of the newer talent with their latest innovations. Whether it’s a traditional Fullers you’re looking for, or whether you want to try a Weird Beard or a Pressure Drop, the festival will sort you out. There will be pale and amber ales, stouts and porters, lagers and speciality beers – offering a wide choice to experienced enthuiasts and a wide choice for the first time tippler.

There will be quiet corners to appreciate your beer, but there’s also lots of entertainment on offer for those more convivial moments of ale enjoyment. There will be talks and demonstrations on all aspects of beer and brewing as well as music and a special kids area. There will be plenty of food to choose from to mop up the beer as you wait for the highlight of the festival: the London Brewers Alliance awards, judged by leading beer experts (including that man who features in a radical drinking song of the 1970s, Roger Protz).

London Brewers Alliance Beer Festival, 3rd-5th May, The Brewhouse, Arch 369-370, Helmsley Place, London Fields, Hackney, London E8 3SB.
