Five reasons to sign up to London’s first The Color Run Night

Emdad Rahman

The “Happiest 5k on the Planet” is gearing up for its first ever UK night time event, during which thousands of runners from across the capital will light up the city’s skies in luminous multicolour! The Color Run Night will be hitting Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Saturday 5th September, so get your glow sticks and party feet at the ready because Saturday Night just got BIG!

If the title of the “Happiest 5k” and the words “illuminous” and “multicolour” weren’t encouragement enough, here are five reasons why you should take part in the event this September…

1. You can raise money for a very good cause.
The NSPCC is the event’s official charity partner. You can support the children’s charity when you sign up by donating straight to the charity – and make sure you visit their activation area and high five their staff on the night.

2. It’s the ultimate Saturday night!
Partying with your friends beneath the London night sky, running around Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park while getting doused in luminous coloured powder – there’s no better way to spend a September Saturday night! At the end of your 5k, The Color Run’s famous Festival Finish will take the party to the next level with Capital DJs and epic MCs creating a huge party atmosphere to help you round off an awesome evening.

3. You get to have buckets of fun, while exercising.
The Color Run Night is not timed, so you can go at your own pace, have a giggle with friends, get covered in every colour of the rainbow and embrace the awesomeness that is the “Happiest 5k on the Planet”. On top of the new illuminated color zones around the course you’ll get to enjoy a magical bubble zone and glow in the dark colour throws. Share the experience with friends, family and colleagues for an amazing evening of glow in the dark fun.

4. It’s selfie central.
If you’ve been to The Color Run in the day time you’ll know you won’t ever take a better photo than you did that day. FACT! Now add in glow in the dark powder, bubbles and an illuminated backdrop at the famous Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and you’ve got that photo awesomeness times a thousand!! The ultimate snaps come courtesy of the Color Throws at the Festival Finish: hold onto your colour packets and throw in unison to glow the skies.

5. And, of course, getting covered in colour!
You may start dressed in a plain black tee, but there’s absolutely no way for it to stay squeaky clean. You’ll be head-to-toe in glorious glow in the dark multicolour at the end of the night. Plus, at the start line and in the Festival Finish The Color Run MCs will be hurling out Glow sticks, socks, tutus, LED sunnies – the more colourful the better – to ensure you look the part. You’d better get practising your catching skills!

Entries to The Color Run Night at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Saturday, 5th September are priced from £29. Participants will receive a limited edition glowing t-shirt as well as a black light headlamp in their race packs to help them twinkle beneath the night sky.

The Color Run 2015 is proudly supported by Original Source, Ocean Spray, the NSPCC, Capital and Metro.
