Barking FC -v- Sporting Bengal Utd

ON 15TH APRIL, Mayesbrook Park will host Essex champions Barking FC in their clash with Sporting Bengal United in the Essex Senior League.

The home game will see Barking, who are promoted to the Isthmian League Division One, awarded the trophy in the presence of Councillor Eileen Keller, the mayor of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.

There will also be a donation made by the club from the gate money to the mayor’s charity, the Richard House Children’s Hospice, and there will also be a bucket collection to help boost the figure.

Thames Ward councillor Cameron Geddes, Cabinet Member for Economic & Social Development, is sponsoring the game for the mayor’s charity. He said: “There’s good interest in the game. It’s a chance to see Barking presented with the league trophy and, of course, for all of us to support the children’s hospice charity.”

Richard House Children’s Hospice provides specialist care for babies, children and young adults who have life-limiting, life-threatening or complex health conditions. The hospice provides an environment where families can create happy, positive experiences and memories together.

The nurse-led team of therapists and support staff at the hospice provide a range of support services to children and their families during their time there. These include one-to-one care, end of life care, short breaks for families, music therapy, fun activities, bereavement support and spiritual care.

Richard House needs to raise around £2 million annually from supporters. Each year it is becoming more difficult to find that money, so every penny that is donated will be truly valued.

Admission is by £6 with £3 for concessions. Fans can also turn up on the day and pay at the turnstiles. To donate towards the cause, go to: www.virginmoneygiving.com/barkingfc
