A top order collapse saw Scintilla CC fall to a shock defeat at Tennyson CC this weekend.

Tennyson won the toss and opted to bat first. Ayaz Karim’s bowlers were on red hot form and bowled the hosts out for 128 from 27.2 overs. Salman was the top scorer with 37.

Ahmad Norharif Hamidon was the chief wicket taker, with figures of 5/22 (8.2 overs), followed by Hassan Rony 2/17 (6 overs), Sajal Rahman 1/17 (3 overs), Abul Hasib 1/13  (4 overs) and Iftekhar 1/16 (5 overs).

To great disappointment, Scintilla could not build on the momentum gained and were all bowled out for 109 in 25.5 overs, with Norharif scoring 29 and Zahed Mamun 19. For the hosts, Habib took 5/31 and Moyes 3/36 to ensure a Tennyson win by 20 runs.

Scintilla captain Ayaz Karim said: “We are all very disappointed with the way things panned out today. Our batting was not up to scratch and we allowed our opponents to exploit our weaknesses. Full credit to Tennyson for their spirit and fightback.”
